Timing

I think it’s funny that right after I posted about family yesterday my sister called me. She started with something along the lines of just calling to chat. It made me laugh. But then we discussed my car, so I’m pretty sure that is actually why she called. But whatev.

Does anyone else say whatev in real life. My friend makes fun of me for it, like it makes me a 2 year old girl. But I don’t care.

Speaking of friends. I made a friend at work. He’s totally awesome and fun to hang out with. I get the feeling that no one else appreciates us tho, because we joke around a lot. I mean, I am completely serious about my work, but we just tease each other and talk to much for everyone else’s liking. I noticed on the new schedule that we don’t work with each other for like 9 days. I wonder what that’s all about.

I really need to start planning our anniversary weekend. We are going to Salt Lake. I have a few ideas, but I really need to book a hotel. I am hoping I can find somewhere with a romantic suite and champagne or something. I got my hubby and AWESOME present. I’ll have to post photos of it tomorrow, because I know he doesn’t read this LOL ;)

Family

I might be afraid to post this, except I know who reads this and I am fairly certain that my whole family is too self absorbed and clueless to even notice that it’s here. Except for my one cousin who reads this: Hi! You know it’s not about you tho ;)

I get pretty annoyed with my family. Most of the time. Like I said they are too self absorbed to even notice that other people exist. I call them just to chat. I try to keep up with what is going on in their lives, but mostly if I don’t make the effort, the relationship ends.

I also think it’s sort of ironic that I have certain family members who complain that we are not close, and or that I moved away, but all my attempts to keep in contact go ignored. I think the last time that one of my family members other than my mom has called me was about my Grandmother’s funeral. That does not count as a social call. Before that.. god only knows how long it’s been.

I also get annoyed that since I still talk to my parents, they spread all the gossip and info second hand. If I want someone to know something I can tell them myself!! That drives me nuts. Even a few things that I asked them to keep in confidence they spilled… So I don’t even trust them anymore.

I can just hear them now… don’t tell E that I told you this BUT,… That’s just how my mom is I guess. I knew it before, yet somehow I was stupid enough to trust her. I guess I just wanted to think the best of her.

I’m at this point pretty fed up with their bullshit anyway, because drama is not my style. I don’t need a fight, an argument, some major upheaval in my life. I’m too practical for all that crap.

I can’t get away from it either, because even when we are not speaking, I still see those people in my social feeds. And it just makes me more annoyed to see their childish stupid behavior. I don’t even like to read it. People post way too much pointless drivel and attention whoring material on social network sites. SIGH.

So for now I’m just living my life, and saying screw it with them. We are actually thinking about moving again after this and starting fresh in a new city. I am excited about the possibility of Texas or South Carolina or something. Who knows. And then I can put off dealing with their crap for a long LONG time.

The Weather Here is Not Conducive to Smiling.

It’s gray. And it’s wet. And damp. And misty. And foggy. And cold. I need sunshine. I need some warmth on me. I need blue sky. I need happy poofy clouds. This weather…it’s killing me.

Summer is officially over. ;(

Dress To Impress

Today I needed to run to the grocery store after work. At first I was just going to go home and put on whatever was laying about and let my hair down and go. But, I got out of work late, so I went straight to the store.

I’ve since realized that every time you leave the house is an opportunity to make an impression. That you never know who you may encounter or run into out there in the world. So look your best! Dress to impress!

Don’t go to the store in work clothes!!!

I feel like such a crotchety old maid.

My Vacuum is Broken

I got the urge to clean today, so I did laundry, I did some dishes, I pulled out the vacuum and vacuumed my living room when “vrmmmmmpft….” happened. Dust everywhere. None of the troubleshooting worked. None of the shaking and disconnecting and pushing and pulling and looking at it from the left did a thing. And since then? The only thing in the world I want to do is vacuum.

Really? The only thing? Why do people say things like that? Surely there’s other things I want to do. I’d like to visit Texas, or buy a house. That would have to be better than vacuuming. Hell, buying a house in Texas would be something I’d want to do more than just simply vacuum. People need to just say what they mean.

Getting to Know Me, Getting to Know All About Me

I’ve had quite a few new returning visitors recently and I figured what better way to get things started than doing an introduction of sorts. I love meeting knew people, so drop me a line and say hi in the comments. I would love for you to tell me about yourself! :)

I was born and raised in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, a city I know and love. I have four siblings, and I am four out of 5. I am a pretty serious person, but know how to live it up and have fun too.

My interests include: law, politics and psychology. I am creative. I love photography, digital scrapbooking and webdesign.

Education is very important to me. I love nerds. I love self esteem, despise arrogance. I love honesty, tactful, not brutal.

I like cooking, but for fun, not as my daily chore. I like when my husband cooks :) . I like taking care of people, but also enjoy being taken care of! I do not sew, I do not knit or quilt, I am no susie homemaker. I dream big. I can’t wait to own my own home and start a family.

I miss the genuine people in my life. I love debates. I love playing online. I love and hate Facebook.

I am a very forgiving person, but once you are on my bad side, it is difficult to get back in my good graces.

My birthday is November 28th. My mom always cooks me a birthday dinner. Anything I want. and Cheesecake. I love Cheesecake. I love my Mom.

I like to eat. I go between eating healthy, and eating junk. I try to be healthy, but I do not obsess about my weight.

I love to travel. I also enjoy curling up under a blanket at home and watching a movie. A relaxing evening includes candlelight. Fruit scented Yankee Candles are my fav.

I like the beach. I like to pack ham and cheese on a hamburger bun and ice tea for lunch at the beach.

I like whole grains. I eat carbs like it’s my job! ;)

I <3 clever sarcasm. Besides loving the show, I also love the Law & Order humor!

Music makes the world go round. I play the violin, and dabble at the piano, guitar, and cello. I am an iTunes junkie.

I recently backed up 53,000+ music and photo files.

I love to learn. I am optimistic.

I shop online mostly at Amazon, and sometimes elsewhere.

Meeting new people online is fun.

Day Off

It’s my day off, which is nice. It’s an opportunity to recover from the vacation and lack of sleep. It’s funny that I need to recover from vacation. Heh.

Anyway, I would like to spend the day dedicated to my blog, but there is so much to do. I have about a million errands to run and by the time I am done, I have the feeling I will have nothing witty or interesting to say. These things happen. The 365 project is wondeful!, but sometimes I just run out of things to say.

Call me to chat instead :) I would like that.

South Dakota Day Two

I woke up this morning and started getting ready. I decided to go into the Jacuzzi room to take a photo of the policies because I would LOVE to post them online for people to truly understand the crazy!!!

But 30 seconds after I opened the room door, here comes the owner. That guy doesn’t know how to go away!!

Anyway, I go back to the room and see bugs, so of course I had to photograph those!! ;)

Because not only is the owner of this place insane, the place is gross and bug infested too. Here is one of the creepy bugs found in our room. I highly recommend NEVER going to Jake’s Bed & Breakfast in Custer SD. Beware!!!! You’ve been warned.

Bug from Jake's Bed & Breakfast, Custer, SD

At breakfast the owner started acting strange, and sort of gave us a half assed apology for last night!!???! I’m pretty sure that he only said something because he heard everything I was saying. I swear he kept popping up EVERYWHERE. We were never alone expect when in our room. Every single time we left our room and or went outside there is he was, and NEVER would go away. I know he heard me complaining, and talking to my husband about how furious I was and how I planned to review this place poorly anywhere that would listen!

We got out of there as fast as we could after breakfast. We drove up to the Badlands National Park. They are pretty neat geographically, and the prairie dogs were so cute. It took about 2 hours to get there and we saw some cool scenery on the way there and back. We stopped in Rapid City to see Reptile Gardens. It is pretty much my favorite place EVER. I loved it, and loved taking photos!!! AMAZING.

After we drove through Keystone and went to see Mt. Rushmore again, this time for the night lighting. It was really cool. They had a movie about the history and then honored the Veterans present with a special presentation. It was a really beautiful moment when all the people sang the national anthem together. I am sort of a sap for that kind of stuff.

And by the time we got back to the B&B it was pretty late. But lo and behold, the owner Mark was outside waiting for us, ready to grill us about where we were, what we did, and if we took his suggestions. What a crazy, wanted to plan our vacation for us. And if I have to hear one more time his STUPID theories about how the Crazy Horse Memorial is anti-white.. because it is not I assure you. That guy is just a racist, among other things.

It’s been another long day. Seems like every time we go on vacation we have 13+ hour days out and about.

South Dakota Day One

Vacation is awesome, let me tell you. We had a great day today.

Breakfast at Jake’s wasn’t too special, but it was good. We had eggs, toast, hash browns, and sausage. We had an early start to the day so we could get lots of sight seeing in. Our first stop was Jewel Cave. We had to make a reservation for a cave tour, so we decided to go check out Mount Rushmore National Monument and come back. Mt. Rushmore was awesome. I really enjoyed it. Of course I got some of the typical photos and learned a bit of history. We saw the Avenue of the Flags. We took the scenic drive around it to explore the area. It was nice.

Mt. Rushmore

We stopped at Quiznos for lunch. Breakfast just wasn’t that filling. I don’t know why. We then went back to Jewel Cave for our tour. We learned a lot about the cave geology and exploration. Our tour guide Cave Dave shared some unique family friendly humor. I enjoyed the challenge of trying to get focused photos in the dark w/o a tripod.

Jewel Cave National Monument

Next stop was Crazy Horse Memorial. It is still in the semi-early phase of construction. The memorial was started in 1945 I believe, but so far only the face is really complete. We walked around the visitors center and there was all kind of History. History buffs would love that place. We also saw some scale models of what the project will look like once completed. I have no idea how long they anticipate it will take.

Crazy Horse Memorial

Our last stop for the day was part of the black hills, Custer State Park. We drove around the Needle Road Scenic Drive. One unique feature were the areas where they carved out sections of the mountain for tunnel passages. We saw a bunch of cool animals: Big Horned Sheep (Ram & Ewes), Goats, Deer, Buffalo. I loved the animals.

Got Sheep?

We had a blast and crammed a lot into the day, BUT We underestimated the time it would take to get back to the B&B. When we realized that we were going to be a few minutes late for our 6:30 dinner reservation I called, but the owner, Mark, freaked out and canceled the dinner. This guy was a total crazy to say the least. We ordered Pizza instead. It’s probably best that I save the rest of that rant for another post, because I could go on and on about Mark’s lunacy.

After dinner we took a dip in the hot tub. It was fun. We had a few drinks. And now it is time for bed. Time flies when you are having fun. That’s for sure.

Oh Dear, I Hit A Deer

Not the way I wanted to start out my vacation… I hit a deer.  It just got dark, and I had just been talking about how I hate driving at night and boom.  I probablly could have swearved or slammed my breaks harder to miss it (says my hubby),but I paniced.  It really shook me up and I made my hubby drive the rest of the way.

The good news is that we are ok.  The car has a small scratch.  The bumber popped out on one side, but easily popped back in.  I thank god that it was ok because it would have really ruined our vacation.

We made it to Jakes.  It is amazing.  Really top of the line!  More soon. Time for some drinking and pizza.
