The Thurman Cafe, Columbus OH

So my hubby and I went to Columbus for a fabulous day today. It was really awesome.

We started out by shopping at the Polaris shopping center. It had some pretty cool & unique stores. Pretty cool place to shop. & There was a Sephora! :)

After the mall we checked out COSI. Also a lot of fun. We are both nerds who like to learn, so it was pretty neat. But it was sort of overrun by kids. You know… science centers can be like that.
Cosi was awesome! I hate to overshadow it because it really was an adventure.

But by far the best part of the day was the Thurman Cafe. It was FABULOUS! We had to wait only about 2 hours to get a table, because its an insanely popular tiny tiny place. It was worth every minute. It was featured on the travel channel show Man vs. Food about a year ago and that only helped to blow the place up. It was packed and everyone was talking about their signature burger The Thurmanator.

Of course, I had to try it. Because seriously, who wouldn’t want a burger the size of their head, overloaded with american cheese, mozzarella cheese, ham, bacon, mushrooms, sauteed onions, 2 twelve ounce burgers, lettuce, tomato, pickle, & mayo. Delicious. Seriously, insanely delicious.

And as amazing as the food was, the service was even better. Everyone in the entire place was smiling and friendly as ever. Other patrons instantly became your friend as you bond over discussing the menu options and over-all coolness of the place. Conincidentally, Adam Richman, the Man vs. Food guy, is back in Columbus this weekend for a Veterans Memorial Event. So of course it was the talk of the town.

Our server bet on me to eat more of the Thurmanator than my hubby. Sadly I lost, but it was all in fun anyway. Neither of us really wanted to stuff ourselves. It sort of defeats the purpose of eating this tower of yumminess to overdo it and feel crappy afterwards anyway.

I ate about 1/2. My hubby almost made it to the end, and could have finished it if we hadnt had a regular lunch and beer and what not. But I swear my burger was bigger to start, so I don’t know.. I might be able to take him in the challenge ;)

I can never eat a regular hamburger again without thinking about how amazing the Thurmanator is!

Anyway, it was a pretty awesome Saturday!
